Sasha Allen The openly transgender female transgender singer who made it to the Live Shows on the Voice was a landmark when they got there. The first time during the 21 years of The Vocal contests Sasha reached the finals beyond into the Battle Rounds. The Newtown, Conn. duo has now made it to the top 8 of the competition! Sasha revealed that he was transgender in their presentation to participate in Blind Auditions. Blind Auditions, and he said to Parade.com that it was a decision that needed thought and consideration. Sasha was transgender in high school and stated that it was challenging to disclose such the vulnerable part of him in front of so many people. "But the last week of the fan week], watching people's reactions to and support for the show and how that has impacted people really showed that the decision was worthwhile and was the right choice, even though it was a hard one to make." The Voice wasn't even around in the moment we performed this song. This was an incredible surprise. We already knew the song and had some ideas of how to structure it.
